CMZen·Digital

Independent digital studio

Ideas worth thinking through carefully.

CMZen Digital is the studio of Christian Mäusezahl. The thematic focus is deliberately kept open: at the center is careful craft, not a single industry. The first project: ChessLynx, a chess app for children that he is especially excited about right now.

Approach

How we work

◐

People first, not metrics

No growth at any price, no tracking or advertising tricks. What we make has to answer to the people who use it, not to a dashboard.

◐

Data stays minimal

Only what a function really needs is processed, whatever the project.

◐

Craft, not templates

Illustration, interaction and text are made iteratively and in detail: better one chapter done thoroughly than ten done superficially.

ChessLynx

ChessLynx is a chess-learning app for children aged 5 and up, designed from the ground up for independent learning without reading. Lux the lynx explains through speech, pictures and demonstrated moves. Children take an active part and deepen their understanding, from the first piece movements to tactical ideas and full games. Parents can join in at any time and manage daily play time. ChessLynx is in development.
